The Reich Chancellor gave an overview of Germany's political situation, especially from the point of view of foreign policy. He stressed that at the moment, the whole world is united against, due to their concern that Germany is again demonstrating its power. The mission of the Reich Government and the German People is to develop this force as soon as possible. The interim period, until Germany is once again an important factor to be reckoned with, is the most dangerous. ....In what regards the Jewish problem, we cannot back down. The Reich Chancellor would have preferred if it had been possible to step up the measures against the Jews gradually, and in first place by means of a citizenship law that would imply a harsher handling of the Jews. However, the boycott initiated by the Jews necessitated harsher measures. The complaints from abroad mostly concern the Jews' legal status and their treatment as second class citizens.... A great deal of damage was caused to us abroad, for example, by an event in Nuremberg. A German girl's braids were cut in Nuremberg because she had contact with a Jew.
